Concrete, paving and asphalt each behave differently, so we’ll be specific.
Concrete Driveways
Concrete shrinks as it cures, so some fine hairline cracking is normal in every concrete driveway, which is why we cut control joints to direct where that movement is relieved. Colour variation and efflorescence (a natural whitish residue) are inherent to concrete, not faults.
Within the guarantee period, we repair or replace:
Cracking beyond the AS 3727 limit (about 1 mm, within the first 12 months) caused by defective workmanship or materials, rather than normal shrinkage or ground movement;
Significant surface failure such as major scaling, spalling or pitting over a substantial area; or
Structural failure of the slab from defective sub-base preparation, reinforcement or placement by us.
Paved Driveways
A paved driveway is built from individual units laid over a prepared base, held by edge restraints, with sand in the joints. Minor settling, slight shade variation between units and batches, efflorescence, and the occasional need to top up jointing sand are all normal characteristics of segmental paving.
Within the guarantee period, we rectify:
Significant sinking, settlement or heaving of the surface from inadequate base preparation or compaction by us;
Failure or displacement of edge restraints we installed, causing pavers to spread, lift or separate;
Lippage (noticeably uneven adjoining units) beyond reasonable tolerance from our laying; and
Incorrect falls that we set, causing water to pond on the surface.
Asphalt Driveways
Asphalt is naturally soft when newly laid and in hot weather, fades from black to grey as it oxidises, and its texture varies slightly, all normal. It can also be marked by concentrated point loads such as jacks, stands or narrow heels while new or warm.
Within the guarantee period, we rectify:
Premature cracking, potholing, depressions, rutting or ravelling (loss of surface aggregate) from defective base preparation, insufficient thickness or inadequate compaction by us, rather than ground movement or misuse;
Edge crumbling or failure from our workmanship; and
Incorrect falls that we set, causing water to pond on the surface.

Every driveway we install, repair or replace comes with a 12 month workmanship guarantee from practical completion, covering the way it's built. It's transferable to the next owner of the property, and it sits on top of your automatic rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The parts we control - including sub-base preparation, the right depth for your surface, drainage falls and edge restraint - across concrete, paving and asphalt. If a genuine workmanship defect appears within the guarantee period, we repair or replace the affected work at no cost to you.
