What a driveway actually costs
Most operators make you request a quote before they tell you anything. Here are our indicative ranges for the ACT and QPRC, with no call and no form to get at them.

Driveway Price Calculator
These are ranges, not quotes. Site access, fall, drainage and the state of what is already there all move the number, which is what the Driveway Assessment is for. But this calculator will tell you within a few thousand dollars what a driveway will cost.
Every price includes
- Excavation and removal of the existing driveway or fill
- Supply and installation of a new DGB20 sub-base
- Compaction of the sub-base across the full area
- All machine and truck hire, machine float and delivery
- Tip fees and labour
All figures include GST and are indicative only. Site preparation covers excavation and removal of the existing driveway or fill, a new DGB20 sub-base and compaction, with all machine hire, truck hire, machine float, tip fees, delivery and labour included. Excludes drainage upgrades, vehcile crossovers, and any council approvals the driveway turns out to need. Nothing here is a quote or an offer. Pricing applies to the ACT and QPRC region.
Before you go further
A repair that holds for another decade costs a fraction of a replacement, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a slab you did not need.
Often the answer
Repair
A repair that holds for another decade costs a fraction of a replacement. We would rather tell you that than sell you a slab you did not need.
- Cracking that has not moved, with no level difference across it
- Surface wear, oxidisation, or loss of colour and seal
- Isolated sections that have lifted or sunk
- Edges breaking away where the base underneath is sound
- Resealing over a stable existing base
When repair will not hold
Replace
Once the base has failed, anything laid over it fails with it. These are the signs the problem is underneath rather than on top.
- Movement across a crack, or one side sitting higher than the other
- Water pooling, or fall running the wrong way toward the house
- Base failure, showing as pumping or repeated sinking in one spot
- Repairs that have already been done more than once
- A change of finish, level or layout you actually want
The Finishes
What each one is good for
All finishes sit under the same guarantee. The right one depends on your budget, your block and how long you plan to be there.
| Finish | Suits | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Two coat spray seal | Long or rural driveways where cost per metre matters more than finish. | The quickest to lay and the lowest cost per square metre of anything we do. |
| Asphalt millings | A hard-wearing mid-range surface on driveways of any length. | Recycled material, so a lower cost and a lower footprint than new asphalt. |
| AC10 asphalt | Front driveways where the finish is on show and has to look right. | Our premium asphalt. Fine graded and the smoothest of the three asphalt options. |
| Plain concrete | The long-life default where structural strength matters most. | Highest strength and the least maintenance over its life. |
| Exposed aggregate | Front driveways where appearance and grip both matter. | Concrete with the stone exposed. Better grip underfoot and in the wet. |
| Paving | Driveways where the design needs to match existing paving or landscaping. | The most design flexibility, and single units can be lifted and reset if something moves. |
All finishes carry the same 12 month workmanship guarantee, and it transfers to the new owners if you sell. We recommend edging on every asphalt driveway.
